Removing chlorine from bath and shower water is essential to health and physical appearance, as well as the over-all environment. Chlorine is absorbed through the skin and is also inhaled while bathing, as hot water releases chlorine gas into the air. Chlorinated water has been linked, through scientific studies, to increased rates of some cancers, as well as birth defects.
Rainshow'r Mfg Co uses KDF (50% zinc and 50% copper) technology. This is now the industry standard. In the filtration process, the free chlorine recombines with a metal ion, changing the chlorine to a soluble zinc chloride, which washes out of the filter and is harmless to humans. Extremely effective at free chlorine removal, KDF also restricts the growth of bacteria and tends to reduce or eliminate fungus and mildew build up in the shower.
